Privacy policy
The short version
This is a static website. It sets no cookies of its own, and it loads nothing from Google or any other analytics or advertising company until you choose to accept. If you decline, or never choose, no such company is contacted, and the whole site works exactly the same either way.
One thing is counted whichever you choose: the pool builder keeps an anonymous count of how it is used. It is our own, run by SplashDown, and it is not linked to you or to anything you type. What it counts is below.
What we load without asking
The pool builder on our
fiberglass pools page. It is our own application,
served by SplashDown, the platform that runs this site, and it is what draws the
pools and prices them. It loads when you open that page because it is the page's
content, not a tracker. It keeps your build in the page's address so you can
bookmark or share it. If you change the order the pools
are listed in, it remembers that order in this browser, under the name
splashdown:sort:acadiana-pools, so the list comes back the same way;
that is not sent anywhere.
Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam check on our contact form and on the request forms inside the pool builder. It loads from Cloudflare only once you open or start using one of those forms, never when you just read a page, and it is there to tell people from bots so that real enquiries are not buried in spam. It is a security check, not measurement, so it runs whichever answer you give the analytics banner. To make the check, Cloudflare receives technical details such as your IP address and your browser's; how Cloudflare handles them is in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Everything else here — text, photographs, fonts, the pool renders — is served from us. There is no Google Maps embed, no video player, no chat widget and no social media button on any page. Where we link to another company's site, such as directions on Google Maps, it is a plain link: nothing loads until you follow it.
What the pool builder counts
Each time the pool builder page loads, the builder makes a random number that exists only while the page is open. It sends SplashDown an anonymous note of the steps taken in the builder, tagged with that number: that the builder was opened (and whether the page was reloaded, or opened straight onto a build from a link), which pools were looked at and opened, which colour, edge (coping) and extras were picked, whether the “Email me this build” or consultation form was opened, whether the link was copied, and whether the form was sent. Stored with each note are the website address it came from, the builder version, the time of each step (so the order and timing of steps within one visit are kept), and whether the browser said it was being driven by software, so that automated tests and crawlers can be left out.
This happens whichever answer you give the banner, because it is our own count and not a tracking company's. The count uses no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. It does not record your IP address, any browser or device details, or anything you type into a form. The note is not linked to the enquiry or email a form sends, and we do not try to connect it to you. A reload or a later visit gets a new random number, so visits are not connected to each other. We use it only to count how the builder is used, for us and for SplashDown. It is not shared or sold, and it is not sent to Google or any advertising company.
What we load only if you accept
If you accept, this site loads Google's gtag.js and, through it,
Google Analytics 4 (G-Z5F6EHLPX4), so we can see which pages and pool
models people actually look at. Apart from the pool builder's own count above, it is
the only measurement on this site: there is no Google Ads tag, no Tag Manager
container and no social media pixel.
Google Analytics is Google's product. It sets its own cookies and receives your IP address, the page you are on and how you move through the site. Google's own description of what it does with that data is in the Google privacy policy. We use what it reports to us in aggregate; we do not try to identify individual visitors, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
Your choice, and changing it
Your answer is kept in this browser, under the name
sdk-consent, so that we do not ask again on every page. It is not sent
anywhere — not to us, not to anyone else — and there is nothing in it but the word
you chose and the date. Clearing your browser's storage clears it and we will ask
again.
You can change your mind at any time, from any page:
Withdrawing consent reloads the page, because a tag that has already loaded cannot be unloaded from a page that is open. After that reload Google no longer measures you. Cookies Google has already set are Google's; you can remove them in your browser's own settings.
When you send us a message
The form on our contact page asks for your name, email address, phone number and whatever you want to tell us about your project. When it is taking requests, what you type is sent to the SplashDown platform that runs this site, stored there as your enquiry, and passed to us so we can answer it.
We use it to answer you about your pool and for nothing else: no newsletter, no mailing list, no advertising audience, and no sharing with anyone outside the people who would build or service your pool. Nothing you type is stored in your browser, and the contact form measures nothing about you. The pool builder's own request forms are counted only as described above: that one was opened or sent, never what you typed. Before it sends, it runs the Turnstile check described above, so a message from a bot is refused.
You can always skip the form and call us on
