Fall is just around the corner for 2020, and even though this year has seen quite a few trials and tribulations there are a few things we can do this year to give Halloween and fall festivities a unique spin. Having access to swimming pools in Lafayette, LA during the summer has proven to be a great way to relax and maintain outdoor, socially distant activity. However, pools are not simply for summer fun, and incorporating your pool and backyard oasis into your fall plans can provide great fun for the entire family.
If it is too cool outside to take a dip, turn your pool in Lafayette, LA into a giant cauldron at night: glowing green, orange, or purple. Painting blown up beach balls to resemble ghoulish eyeballs adds a touch of the macabre! With cooler weather, it is always wonderful to light up the firepit and barbecue pit and allow the family to smell the crisp, cool air. If warm apple cider is up your alley, bring out the slow cooker and fill with apple cider, cinnamon sticks, star anise, and a little nutmeg. Top fresh cups of hot apple cider with a fresh apple slice, a cinnamon stick, and whipped cream if you dare.
If the weather has stubbornly refused to feel like fall and swimming is still possible for Halloween, turn traditional games for the swimming pool in Lafayette, LA into Halloween themed fun. Marco Polo can become find the witch, where players yell out “witch!” with the person who is it trying to find the witch in the pool. A fun game of shark can become zombies in the river, where people try to cross without drawing the attention of the zombies in the river. Whoever gets caught becomes the next zombie! With trick or treating most likely out of the picture for Halloween 2020, it is easy to forget that we can still celebrate small and on our own, and make the holiday even more memorable for our children.
